LaShera McElhany, Ph.D., is a professor in Teacher Education at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie, TX. She is also an adjunct professor and instructional mentor at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Dr. McElhany served 13 years in the public education classroom and continues to teach tomorrow's teachers at the university level.
Dr. McElhany has extensive knowledge in early childhood education, instructional technology, ESL/bilingual education, and student engagement. Her doctoral work focused on literacy instruction, specifically in writing instruction.
In addition to her roles in higher education, Dr. McElhany leads professional developments, presents keynotes, and provides educational seminars and instructional coaching.
