Google Classroom is an avenue, a channel for distributing ideas. We ask our students to complete work, and we hope it is meaningful to them, or that, at the very least, they learn SOMETHING. But how do we know? How do we measure their success? How do we get them to TURN IT IN?!?! This session will challenge you to use the Google environment to help you build meaningful assignments for your students. Assignments that will challenge their thinking and take their thinking to the next level. See how creating podcasts increases student accountability. Watch the mechanism Google Classroom provides as students turn in their original work. See how screencasts can be more than a YouTuber's plea for fame. Watch as student video goes viral in support of local and national causes. These projects, distributed and submitted through Google Classroom, highlight the success of thinking deeply within well crafted assignments, as we draw attention to critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Google Classroom will become your avenue for holding students accountable within your meaningful assignments.
